Connection settings

SSH and RDP options, set once and inherited down to projects, zones and instances.

Settings › Connection Settings holds SSH and RDP options, set once and inherited from Global to project, zone and instance. Pick a Scope, change a value, and it applies to everything below that scope unless overridden there; Use inherited removes an override. Connection Settings… in an instance's or project's menu opens the right scope.

Passwords and keys can come from the Keychain, a file, or Secret Manager. For Secret Manager only the secret's name is stored; its value is read when you connect and held in memory for that connection.
